As I have recently come to get comments from foreign readers,
I tried to write my blog in English. But it may be impossible for me
to write all the topics.

:kusho:

My two-days-trip by car for Nikko and Nasu was
from 10/10 to 10/11 in 2010. Because the weather forecast said that
that three-day weekend wouldn’t be fine so much, I couldn’t decide
to carry out the plan till just before the trip.

A few days ago, I saw red leaves in Ubagadaira of Mt.Nasu by a TV
program. It was so beautiful that I thought I should go there.
It was said that the red leaves would be at its peak in the three-day
weekend. But I worried about traffic jam. What’s more, I couldn’t know
whether it would be fine or not. When I found the weather on 11/10
would be sometimes fine, I reserved a B&B at once. (B&B in Japan
serves both breakfast and dinner. The charge is around
from 8,000 to 12,000 yen.)

First, I went to “Kanmangafuchi” that is near “Toshogu” in Nikko.
Though I’ve been to Nikko several times, it was the first visit
for me to “Kanmangafuchi”.

This time, I chose the route to go to “Nasu” via “Kirifurikogen”.
“Kirifurikogen” is well known as the place clumping “Nikkokisuge”.
Actually I haven’t been there. No matter how many times
I may go to Nikko, I cannot say I’m a real “Nikkonist”.

Though I tend to go to the place I like many times,
my husband wants to go to various places.
So, I have come to find the pleasure ,which examines unknown places
and goes there. His influence may be great.

There is a big bridge I forgot the name of on the way to Nasu from kirifurikogen
, and it seems to have been a place of interest for red leaves.
Many people stopped their car and were taking pictures.

:kinoko:

It was so beautiful that I also took some pictures.

After that, I strolled around “Kawamata lake” and had lunch,
then went to “Ryuokyo” that had good paths I could enjoy walking
and nature.

Before I arrived at “Ryuokyo” ,it was raining. But when I started to
walk, the rain gradually stopped. No doubt my daily behavior is
so good that the God blessed me. (Is it true?)
The flog seems to have been welcoming me.

At the night, I stayed at a B&B called “Guesthouse Mominoki (fir)”.

Though I reserved the B&B just before the trip, I thought it was
miraculous that I could get a reservation for the B&B whose dinner
ranking was five star.
However most of visitors were family with a dog so it was a little
ashamed for us as a couple. As the floors were all flooring, in opening
and closing doors and footsteps sounded considerably noisy.

Additionally, a dog was barking very late at night.

If my husband and I had children and a dog, it would be OK.
Basically I like cats, but also like dogs. If I can have a dog someday,
I want to come to this B&B again.

We didn’t have no problem about meal’s taste and volume at all.

Particularly, stewed beef the owner in the B&B was proud of was
really delicious. I often cook one, but I cannot achieve this taste.

Also breakfast was hearty.

When I checked out from the B&B, the owner in the B&B said
“I should apologize to you about all the matter.”.
I said in the back of my mind that “I appreciate your hard work
in this three-day weekend”.

Then after getting a beverage and box lunch at a convenience
store, I headed straight for Mt.Nasu.

But the road was very crowded. Many visitors for viewing red
leaves hindered the traffic, as if many visitors for viewing cherry
blossoms did so. It was so terrible.

Though the distance was about 4km, it took me no less than four
hours to get to Mt.Nasu. The reason was that not only influence of
the TV program but the number of cars in the traffic jam far
exceeded the parking’s capacity. On 9/10 and 10/10, going to
Mt.Nasu by private car was prohibited and shuttle buses were
running between a big parking area in Nasu town and Mt.Nasu.
But there wasn’t the regulation only on 11/10 as the last day of
three-days weekend.

I felt very guilty about parking on the streets at the place I visited
for the first time and I wanted to check the whole story of the
traffic jam, so I stuck it out. The number of the cars parking on the
streets were considerably large. I’ll make efforts to be
a well-mannered hiker.

In the parking area I arrived at at last, I was smiled at
by the beautiful red leaves.

:namida:

It was already past 14:00, when I went up to the top of Mt.Nasu with
an aerial cableway. According to an employee in the aerial cableway,
the last run will be around 16:24. Then I gave up going around there
thoroughly, but I wanted to go to at least near “Ubagadaira”,
so I walked without lunch.

Then I arrived at “Ushigakubi”. Appreciating a lot of red leaves
on the best perfect autumn day that the employee said, I could look
down at “Ubagadaira” and eat the box lunch I bought at a convenience
store.

How hungry I was!

:cat:

Though the traffic jam that is four hours per 10km was an
impenetrable difficulty, I was glad to see the beautiful red leaves
on the most perfect autumn day of this year.
